| The NFC East race is getting interesting as the 'Skins get ready to take on the Eagles. Dallas looked like they were ready to fall behind the pack with some of their poor games early, but they stepped it up and won a big one at home against Atlanta yesterday. That's the kind of win that's going to loom large in the tiebreaker scenarios come December, as both will likely be jousting for one of the two wild-card spots. The Cowboy defense did a nice job keeping Matt Ryan under control and Tony Romo is really locking in with Austin Miles as his new favorite receiver. The 'Boys got further help in the overall NFC playoff picture when the Bears were humiliated in Cincinnati. And then Sunday night's game further tightened things up. Eli Manning turned in a very bad outing for New York, throwing three interceptions at home to the Cardinal defense. What kind of homefield advantage do the Giants have if their own quarterback has more trouble with Meadowlands conditions than anyone else? We got our answer last January--not much. Arizona won 24-17 and sent a message that they aren't going away easily. It also means Tom Coughlin's crew isn't ready to run away this division just yet. It can still get very interesting. And though it seems like very wishful thinking, it would be nice if the 'Skins could be a part of the interest. We'll find out tonight. Later this week, as the Redskins head into their bye week, we'll do a complete overview of the NFL and see how the races are shaping up. |
